The count
On October 20, the day I released the TWC Procedural Interstate Network, my three mods crossed 1,000 downloads:
| Nexus Mods | 7daystodiemods | together | |
|---|---|---|---|
| TWC Roadmaster Tractor-Trailer Combo | 436 | 260 | 696 |
| TWC M6 Gran Coupe | 139 | 85 | 224 |
| TWC Procedural Interstate Network | 58 | 24 | 82 |
| all three | 633 | 369 | 1,002 |
Plus 4,300 views on 7daystodiemods, 9 endorsements on the Roadmaster, and the interstate’s first endorsement on its first day.
How it got here
The Roadmaster was my first mod ever, out on September 30. It hooks up, it hauls, and you sit in it. The M6 is the car I drive in real life, out on October 15. The interstate came out on October 20: over 500 highway tiles built from the game’s own blocks and a planner that builds a divided highway into every random world.
The first income from a mod came on October 9. The first player bug, coupling that only worked for the host, I found and fixed on my own dedicated server. Then came a frame-jump fix the same day a player reported it, and the M6 and the Roadmaster on two game versions.
The people
What I didn’t expect was the people. On the interstate’s first day, a road designer on Nexus offered to help design new tiles. Someone asked about building a suspension bridge for it. Players asked the right questions (“is it a server-only mod?” Yes.) and told me it was something they had been missing for years.
Thank you
To everyone who downloaded, endorsed, commented, reported a bug or told a friend: thank you. This is a hobby I do for fun with my family first, and a thousand of you made it feel like a real thing. There is a lot more coming: the trailers, the bypass redesign around the cities, and whatever we build next.
