TWC M6 Gran Coupe

Taroos the Warlock's own four-door performance coupe, rebuilt for 7 Days to Die and released as the TWC M6 Gran Coupe (formerly WC M6 Gran Coupe): performance chassis, engine audio recorded from the real car, speed-sensitive steering, a full lamp set, Alpine White with eleven paint kits in the pack, and a steering wheel that turns.

TWC M6 Gran Coupe

Four mods, one car

  • M6 Gran Coupe (v0.3.1) — the vanilla-first cosmetic baseline. A gray-box drivable that proved the vehicle pipeline end to end: Unity asset bundle, entity class, physics, and a live-world drive.
  • TWC M6 Gran Coupe (v1.4.0, released 29 Sep 2026; formerly WC M6 Gran Coupe) — the flagship, grown from the San Marino Blue Performance Plus chassis (v0.20.1) and done for this version. Retuned AWD chassis, engine audio recorded from the real car with a small Harmony patch so the note follows the load, speed-sensitive steering, four seats, a full lamp set (tail lamps lit as one across the lid and body, reverse and plate lamps, headlight DRL ring and projector state), a cab view from the driver’s seat with the interior measured against the creator’s own car (1.3.0), a steering wheel that turns with the driver’s hands on it (1.3.3), and Alpine White paint with eleven paint kits in the pack (1.4.0).
  • Vanilla Red Performance Plus (v0.1.0) — the same chassis in the game’s own red.
  • Native Paint System (v1.0.0, 26 Jul 2026) — ten custom Warlock paints over the game’s dye system, first as a separate pack with four extra finish-master cars. Since 1.4.0 they ship inside the TWC M6 pack as dye-slot paint kits, with the finish set by a small patch on the one car.

What was learned

The vehicle pipeline is where most of the lab’s hard lessons about proof came from. A build can pass every automated gate and still ship the wrong body if the swap writes over its own source. Reference photographs have to be measured every pass, not only when something looks off. Those lessons now sit in the Geometry Lab standard and apply to every vehicle since.

The lamps

The pack shipped with real lights that never lit: the bundle’s lamp materials carried the emission keyword but nothing drove it. Fixing it took three build cuts, each judged by the creator’s own night drive. The first lit the body-side tail lamps only, and the trunk-lid halves — a different mesh with different names — stayed dark, reading as two disconnected lamps rather than one. The second matched every lamp piece by name across the lid and body into one shared material per tier, wired the reverse and plate lamps to the reverse-throttle state, and made the headlight DRL ring and projector switch with the lights. The creator’s next drive found the fix had gone too far the other way: a glow light placed “behind” each tail lamp had been offset in the local space of a small rig-marker whose rotation did not match the car’s own, so it pointed part way into the cabin and lit the rear seats red. The third cut computed the light’s position from the vehicle’s real forward direction instead, the way a similar reverse light on the TWC Roadmaster already had been, and cut its reach so it could not reach the interior. Approved on the fourth pass: “Lock it in, bro. The M6 is done.”

Publication

On the Downloads page as TWC M6 Gran Coupe v1.4.0 (29 September 2026). 1.4.0 puts the paint kits in the pack: the car comes in Alpine White, and eleven kits go in its dye slot, the ten Warlock paints (San Marino Blue, Obsidian Black, Rose Gold, Emerald Green, Royal Purple, Satin Gray, Matte Graphite and three reds) each with its own finish, and a Vampire livery kit, deep blood red with blood-red calipers. A kit paints the body only: the black rims, the kidney grilles and the carbon roof, trim and spoiler stay black, and the release tool proves it from the built car. 1.3.3, the same day, made the steering wheel turn: the part the game turns had been an empty marker beside the wheel; the driver’s hands now hold it at 9 and 3 and turn with it. 1.3.2 changed no game file: the pack credits its creator as Taroos throughout, and its changelog lists each version once. 1.3.0 added the cab view, the same gesture as the Roadmaster’s: scroll the camera fully in while driving and you sit in the driver’s seat, looking out through the glass, no extra mod. Five interior passes followed the same night, each one cut from the creator’s notes from that seat and measured against 32 photographs of his own cabin: the overhead console rebuilt flat against three photos he took of it that night, the roof lining split off the floor carpet and lit, white paint faces inside the cabin turned black, the buttons given real legends on an atlas instead of white squares, the instrument cluster’s texture finally carried into the bundle, carbon on the dash brow, layered door cards, paneled seats, a matte cabin, and the wheel emblem replaced by a plain black disc. 1.3.1 changed no game file: it states in the pack that the engine audio is the creator’s own recording, all rights reserved, and that the CC BY license covers the body model only. 1.2.0 was the rename: mod folder TWC-M6 (delete the old BabyWarlockM6Performance folder), new mod and item name. Entity ids are unchanged so a car already placed in a save carries over; bundles, all three runtime patches and every vehicle config are byte-identical to 1.1.1, which itself changed no game file over the 1.1.0 lamp lock of 15 September. Chassis, steering and audio are unchanged since v1.0.1, released 14 September under the Warlock Commandery name, created by Taroos the Warlock, with manufacturer branding kept out of the product. The body mesh is Black Snow’s “BMW M6 [Gran Coupe]” under CC BY 4.0, quoted by its own title in the pack’s attribution as the license requires. The engine audio was recorded by the creator from his own car, which is why it sounds the way it does. The code, chassis tune, cabin and lamp runtime are this lab’s. The pack is a free fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer, and says so in its README.

The first gallery rows are the paint kits in game, one per kit, taken by the creator on 29 September 2026. Below them, the release build out on the Interstate Framework’s roads (a separate mod), then the first playable build.

Paint kits

The car comes in Alpine White. Eleven kits in the pack go in its dye slot, where the game’s own dyes go, and each is a workbench recipe of 60 paint and 2 duct tape. Take a kit out and the car is white again; the game’s own dyes still work too. The color comes from the game’s dye system and the finish from a small patch, on the body paint only: the black rims, the kidney grilles, the carbon roof, trim and spoiler, the glass and the cabin are never touched, and the release tool checks that in the built car before anything ships.

Controls and requirements

  • Cab view: scroll the camera fully in while driving; scroll out to leave. Everything else is the game’s own vehicle controls: four seats, storage, repair, refuel, and the dye slot, where the paint kits go.
  • Game build: 7 Days to Die V3.2.0 (b10). The steering patch checks the exact build and turns itself off with a log warning on any other build (stock steering, no crash). The audio, lamp and cab-view patches only read vehicle state.
  • The stock 0_TFP_Harmony folder that ships with the game, and EAC off (the pack contains code, like every vehicle mod with custom behavior).
  • Multiplayer: every player and the server need the same folder.
  • Stands alone: this is its own mod and drives the game’s own roads. The interstate in some of the screenshots is the Interstate Framework, a separate mod that is not included in this download and not released yet.
  • Known limits: no LOD or damage-state meshes yet; after a game update the steering falls back to stock until the pack is updated.

TWC M6 1.4.0: paint kits, a turning wheel, and every kit in the item menu

The M6's paint comes home: ten Warlock paints and a Vampire kit now ship inside the M6 pack as kits for the car's dye slot, each with its own finish, on an Alpine White car. The same day the steering wheel started turning, and every kit in both vehicle packs, the Roadmaster's liveries included, showed up in the item menu.

WC M6 Gran Coupe v1.1.1: the README that still said 1.0.1

A release review of both vehicle packs found the 1.1.0 M6 zip shipping the 1.0.1 README: wrong version in the expected log line, two banner lines where the pack prints three, no mention of the lamps. v1.1.1 fixes the packet and changes no game file. The publish step now refuses to zip a pack whose text disagrees with its version.

TWC M6 Gran Coupe v1.2.0: the rename

The car released as WC M6 Gran Coupe is now the TWC M6 Gran Coupe, mod folder TWC-M6, matching the Roadmaster renamed the same afternoon. Same car, same bundles, same three patches, byte for byte. Saves carry over.

TWC M6 Gran Couperelease

TWC M6 Gran Coupe 1.3: the cab view, five passes from the seat, and whose sound it is

The Roadmaster's cab view ported to the M6 in one cut, then five interior passes in a night, each from Reggie's notes from the driver's seat and against photographs of his own car. What Blender showed and the bundle did not, and the line the pack now draws around the engine recordings.

WC M6 Gran Coupe v1.1.0: three cuts to get the lamps right

WC M6 Gran Coupe v1.1.0 is on the Downloads page: a full lamp set for a car whose lights had never actually worked. It took three build cuts and four rounds of night driving, including one cut that lit the rear seats red before anyone noticed the cabin, not the road, was glowing.

WC M6 Gran Coupe v1.0.1: the idle that was never there

WC M6 Gran Coupe v1.0.1 is on the Downloads page. Getting there meant re-verifying the pack on a game build that had moved under it, giving the car real steering above 20 mph, and discovering that the engine idle everyone had been hearing for a month was a different clip entirely.

M6 Performance Plus flagship chassis approved

The San Marino Blue Performance Plus build was driven, listened to, and approved as the flagship chassis. Retuned steering and drivetrain, load-following engine audio, and a paint system that uses the game's own dyes.
