What happened
On October 23 a Nexus Mods user, YUBANSHAO, put up TWC Roadmaster Tractor-Trailer Combo-Translations-Simplified Chinese. It’s a translation patch that turns my Roadmaster’s text into Simplified Chinese, the tractor’s and the vans’ descriptions included. It isn’t a copy of the mod. You download the Roadmaster from my page, then drop the patch into it.
Their note on the page says, in English: “This is only a Chinese translation patch. It doesn’t include the mod itself. When translating, I kept the original author’s name, as the author asked. Please support the original author, thank you.”
Why it matters to me
Somebody I’ve never met, on the other side of the world, liked the Roadmaster enough to spend their own time making it readable for their players. They kept my name on it because my listing asks for it, and they sent everyone back to my page for the mod. That’s respect.
It’s good company, too. YUBANSHAO translates the big mods: their other recent translations are of Home on Wheels - Ark, the fastest-growing new 7 Days to Die mod on Nexus right now.
What I said back
I thanked them on their page, in Chinese and in English: “Brother, thank you so much! Thank you for supporting my work like this, and for taking the time to make a Simplified Chinese translation so more players can enjoy this mod. I really appreciate your support.” And: “i hope the translation worked!! Thank you so much for the support and thank you for dropping this version!!”
To everyone playing the Roadmaster in Chinese now: welcome to the road.
