The count
Nexus Mods keeps two numbers for every mod. Total downloads counts every file anyone grabs. Unique downloads counts each person once on each mod, however many files or updates they take. On the morning of October 27, when my mods crossed 2,000 total downloads, my profile was five short of 1,000 unique downloads. By midnight it read 1,050.
The next morning Nexus Mods sent me an email: “Congratulations! You’ve hit Mod Author status.”
| unique downloads on Nexus Mods | |
|---|---|
| TWC Roadmaster Tractor-Trailer Combo | 411 |
| TWC Procedural Interstate Network | 210 |
| TWC M6 Gran Coupe | 141 |
| TWC Roadmaster Deluxe with Towing Trailers | 120 |
| TWC Workmaster Cement Mixing Truck | 110 |
| TWC Quartermaster Tankers | 77 |
| all six | 1,069 |
I read these off the six mod pages on the morning of October 28. My profile read 1,060 the same minute. Nexus doesn’t update the profile and the mod pages at the same moment: at midnight it was the other way around, 1,050 on the profile and 1,044 on the pages.
Mod Author
The badge sits next to my name on my profile now, for anyone who looks. It also comes with ad-free browsing on Nexus Mods and a seat in the mod authors’ own Discord and forum. The next reward is at 3,000.
How it got here
On October 21 the profile crossed 500, the day the TWC Workmaster went up. One week later it crossed 1,000. In between came the TWC Roadmaster Deluxe with its lowboys on October 22 and the TWC Quartermaster Tankers on October 25. The Roadmaster still brings in the most: 411 of the 1,069 on its own.
Thank you
To everyone who downloaded, endorsed, commented or told a friend: thank you. My first mod went up on Nexus Mods on September 29. A month later, I’m a Mod Author. The flatbeds are next.
