TWC Roadmaster 2.0.0: the vans open up

The OG Roadmaster's biggest update: the dry vans' doors swing open with a dome light inside, the vans fill with freight you can see, the air lines follow the trailer, Trader Bob sells the rig, and one download each for V3.3, V3.2 and V2.6.

The update

2.0.0 is the update to the original Roadmaster: the tractor and the 28, 40 and 53 foot dry vans. Taroos asked for it by number and held it until his tests were done.

The vans

Open a van’s storage and its rear doors swing all the way open against its sides, with a dome light inside. Close it and they shut a few seconds later. Everyone on a server sees them. Inside, the van fills with the game’s own pallets of boxes and shipping crates as you load it: the first stack the moment anything is in it, and packed to the roof at 90% of its slots. Taroos, after his first look: “The doors swung open. And I like it.”

The rest

  • The air lines and the electrical cord run to each van’s own glad hands and swing with it through a turn, instead of stretching.
  • The landing gear is solid: back in too far and the truck stops against the legs.
  • On a server, only the driver can release the trailer, and it rides as smoothly on a passenger’s screen as on the driver’s.
  • A rig you leave parked comes back coupled after you drive away and return.
  • Trader Bob sells the tractor, the vans and the livery kits from day one: one truck or van and two kits each restock.
  • The Commandery and Stock livery kits come with it now, and the website is off the vans. The seal and wordmark stay.

Tested

Taroos drove this code on V3.3 in single player from 17 to 20 October, and on our own dedicated server with a second machine joined on 19 October: coupling across machines, the doors and the freight, every livery, on both screens. The V3.3 file is that same code with the version number changed, checked byte for byte. He booted and drove the V3.2 file on V3.2 on 21 October. The V2.6 file is the same code built for V2.6 and checked against the V2.6 game’s own files: every part of the game it hooks into is there.

Three downloads

One download each for V3.3, V3.2 and V2.6, all 2.0.0. It’s the Roadmaster’s last update for V3.2: from here on, our mods are for V3.3 and newer, and V2.6.
