Six kits, one slot
Taroos picked the lineup: fleet white, weathered, rusted, and black and gold, then a vampire red and black and a blacked-out one on top. Each is one kit that fits every Roadmaster unit, the tractor and all three dry vans, so a rig can match or not. A kit is a workbench recipe: 60 paint and 2 duct tape.
| Kit | Look |
|---|---|
| Fleet White | clean white paint, charcoal lettering, the seal in gold |
| Weathered | the black left out for years: chalky oxidation, dust, chipped edges, faded lettering |
| Rusted | rust at every edge and seam and into the panels, lettering mostly peeled, rusty wheels |
| Black and Gold | gloss black, gold chrome, gold wheels, gold lettering |
| Vampire | blood red over black, black roof, smoked chrome, black wheels, black lettering |
| Blacked Out | matte black, black chrome and wheels, darker glass, ghost lettering |
How the game hands a kit over
The game already has the slot. A vehicle’s dye goes in its cosmetic slot and is saved with the vehicle, and whenever that slot changes the game repaints the vehicle. A livery kit is built the same way as a dye, restricted to the Roadmaster units, and carries the livery’s name. The mod reads that name when the game repaints and swaps each paint map and lettering sheet for its livery version. Taking the kit out puts the originals back. Every livery texture ships in one new file; the tractor and the vans are the same files as before.
The wear needed a different edge
The first weathered pass speckled every panel like stucco. The chipped-paint mask was reading the model’s edges from a measurement that, on these simple box panels, sits near its maximum across every flat face, so it found an “edge” everywhere. The wear now takes its edges from where each panel’s texture ends, which on this geometry is exactly where the metal does, and its crevices from the shading in the corners. Rust then starts at edges, seams and the lower body, with dark cores and orange fringes, and the heavy kit eats into the panels as well.
The 53’s lettering
A screenshot from the dry van release showed the 53 losing letters behind its side posts at some angles. Its lettering and seal now sit just in front of the posts, as the 28 and the 40 already did. Measured against the approved build, those six decals moved 22.5 mm outward and nothing else changed.
Checked
Every livery was composed from the same bakes as the shipped paint, with the shipped paint rebuilt byte for byte first to prove nothing else moved. The new file was read back texture by texture against the ones it replaces. The release tool refused three bad files planted on purpose. Clean boot. Then Taroos put the kits on and took them off the tractor and the vans, day and night; the game log shows every one applied and restored with no errors. “They look good. Lock them in.”
