TWC Quartermaster Flatbeds 1.0.0: move your base, crates and all

Two conex flatbeds and a log trailer for the TWC Roadmaster: pack your storage crates into the conex whole, one at a time or all at once, haul your base and set it back out. With them, TWC Roadmaster 2.1.0 (the conex's owner rule, Pack all nearby crates, and a truck out of gas stops) and TWC Workmaster 1.0.1. For V3.3 and V2.6, tested by Taroos on both the same day.

The release

TWC Quartermaster Flatbeds 1.0.0 is its own mod, beside the TWC Roadmaster it runs on, and the last of the trailer packs: a 53’ flatbed with a 40’ conex for 44 storage crates, a 40’ flatbed with a 20’ conex for 20, and a 53’ log trailer. Set the conex down where you aim, pack your crates into it whole, with their items, labels and locks, haul it, and set them back out just as they were packed. The log trailer takes wood only, and the logs stack up on its bunks as it fills.

Pack all nearby crates

Packing a base one crate at a time was slow, and the conex could already unpack them all at once. So Taroos asked for the other half before his last test: “We need to load all crates in radius option too.” Pack all nearby crates sits on the crate’s menu beside Pack into conex and packs every crate within about 10 meters of the conex, the nearest first, until it’s full. A locked crate the player can’t open stays out.

The conex is yours

On a server, a conex belongs to whoever owns its flatbed. Only the owner, their allies and the players the flatbed’s password lets in can set it down, load it, or pack and unpack crates; anyone can open its doors and look.

TWC Roadmaster 2.1.0 and TWC Workmaster 1.0.1

The conex runs on the TWC Roadmaster’s code, so the owner rule and Pack all nearby crates ship in TWC Roadmaster 2.1.0, for V3.3 and newer and for V2.6; the V3.2 download stays 2.0.0. 2.1.0 also fixes a bug Taroos found in his own trucks: with an empty tank they kept driving. Now a truck stops when its engine cuts out, the same as the game’s own vehicles. The TWC Workmaster had the same bug, and TWC Workmaster 1.0.1 has the same fix. The fix is in the V3.3 downloads only; the Workmaster’s V2.6 download stays 1.0.0.

Tested

On 29 October Taroos tested the new files in single player, on our own dedicated server with a second machine joined, and on V2.6 on our second machine:

  • On the server: while the two players weren’t allies, the other player could only open the conex doors. Once they were allies, each set down, packed, unpacked and loaded the other’s conex, with Pack all nearby crates and Unpack all crates. After a server restart every conex kept its owner, and the locked crates stayed where they were.
  • On V2.6: Pack all nearby crates filled the 40’ conex to 44 of 44, Unpack all crates set them out, and the conex went back on its flatbed with its crates, across three sessions of one game, the crates coming back with their items.
  • Out of gas: the Roadmaster, the Deluxe and the Workmaster run dry. His word: “they don’t just be driving off anymore.”

That afternoon he filmed the how-to. The V2.6 files are the same files he tested there, byte for byte.
