Why a mixer
When Taroos looked, there was no cement mixer truck for 7 Days to Die that actually mixes. So he built one. The Workmaster is the lab’s utility chassis: the TWC Roadmaster’s day cab on a long frame, built to carry working bodies. The mixer is its first.
How it mixes
- Hold E on the truck, or hold B in the driver’s seat, and pick Start mixer: concrete or Start mixer: asphalt. The drum spins up like a hydraulic drive and keeps turning with nobody in the seat. Stop mixer spins it down.
- The truck’s storage takes only what the game’s Cement Mixer takes: cement, crushed sand, small stones and oil shale, and what the mixer makes from them.
- On concrete, one cement, one crushed sand and one small stones make one Concrete Mix. On asphalt, 8 crushed sand, 17 small stones and 5 oil shale make one Asphalt. The game’s own recipes, nine times as fast, while you drive.
- It waits while anyone has the storage open, and when there’s no room for what it makes. A truck left mixing is still mixing, on the same mix, when the world loads again.
- On a server, everyone sees the drum turn.
The truck
An American rear-discharge mixer: a 12-degree drum with the Commandery gold spiral, the water tank, the hopper, the chutes and the ladder at the back, one curb-side stack and a pusher axle riding raised ahead of the tandem. Up front, a fabricated steel bumper with safety-red tow hooks and a center tow pin under a black grille guard. Scroll the camera all the way in and you’re in the cab with working gauges. Full lighting, damage states and three levels of detail.
Livery kits
Four kits go in the dye slot, after the ready-mix trucks on real job sites: Redi-Mix White, Plant Gray, Hazard Yellow and Job Site Orange. Each is a workbench recipe of 60 paint and 2 duct tape. Take the kit out for the Commandery black.
Tested
Taroos drove it on V3.3 in single player in the days before the release, and on our own dedicated server with a second machine joined on 19 October. His last test before the release was two reloads with concrete and asphalt mixing, and Trader Bob selling it from day one: “It’s all good. Verified 3.3 is good to go.” The V3.3 file is that tested code with the version number changed, checked byte for byte. On V2.6 his first look found a bug: a mixer loading from the save forgot what it was allowed to mix. It was fixed, and on the final V2.6 build he mixed concrete and asphalt across three loads from the save, with the wrong items refused.
Crafting
- The mixer: 10 wheels, 3 truck chassis, 2 truck accessories, 2 small engines, 2 car batteries, at the workbench.
- Livery kits: 60 paint and 2 duct tape each.
Trader Bob sells the mixer and its livery kits from day one.
Requirements
- Game build: 7 Days to Die V3.3, or V2.6 (b14) with the V2.6 download. On V2.6 the mixer keeps mixing while someone has the storage open.
- The stock
0_TFP_Harmonyfolder and EAC off. No other mods are needed: the Workmaster runs with or without the TWC Roadmaster. - Multiplayer: the server and every player need the same folder.
